Ace's gives a nod to the detroit style pizza, true from one crispy edge to the next. Vibes in this place are immaculate, with a dad's finished basement feel, and cool kid staff. The wings and cheesy bread are perfect for the table as is the shareable Caesar salad. Love to stop by on collab days where local eateries will take a shot at topping an Ace's pie. Always stellar food AND service at this place after many visits and feel the staff is truly exceptional and friendly.

Ace's Pizza is spectacular. I was meeting up with a friend in Williamsburg, and stopping here was one of the best decisions I've ever made. This is one of the best slices in New York, and I've had a ton of pizza in the City. I ordered a personal meat lovers, which was plenty of food. The pepperoni and sausage were very flavorful, and the crust was deliciously crispy. I had great service at the bar, and the pizza came out quickly. This place has a cool, laid back retro vibe.

After a lovely run across the bridges my friends and I had to stop by Aces pizza for a sliceeeeee (much deserved reward). this place SCREAMS vintage pizza diner shop its so cute. they had outside seating with fans which was a must as we near the fall - was still hot but still cool (weird weather). service was a bit slow as people who sat after us got served before us but honestly that wont stop me from coming back. we started with a table side ceasar which was so yummy. perfectly crunchy and the crutons hit. then for my slice i got the cheeseburger pizza and yall this ACTUALLY tasted like a cheeseburger it was NUTTS. sooo savory and delicious and pizza form yet cheeseburger flavor i was obsessed. if you like a thick pizza this is the place for you, 10/10 would come baccccc

I'm a massive fan of Ace's and it might be due to my bias towards Detroit style pizza. Their personal pizza comes in 2 slices, medium in 4, and large in 8 slices. At $10 for a personal pizza, it's a bit pricy but if you like Detroit style pizza, Ace's is a must in NYC. The slices always come piping hot, and are generally nice and crispy on the bottom. On this visit, I got the Supreme pizza for the slightly healthier option but I will admit that I think the pepperoni is much better. It is also worth noting that the pizza here is on the doughier side in case that's not preferred. Unlike a lot of the pizza places nearby, Ace's is more of a sit down restaurant where they provide water and utensils, and have restrooms inside. This makes service slightly slower than other by-the-slice places nearby but there's plenty of seating both inside and out front. Overall, I have yet to find a better Detroit style pizza in the city than Ace's but I'm actively on the hunt

Ace's Pizza is a Detroit-style pizzeria that opened in Brooklyn, New York in February 2021. It was founded by chef Matthew Etchemendy. The talented chef had previously owned the NYC restaurant/bar The Headless Horseman as well as its sister establishment Ichabod's (both in Union Square). By 2019, Etchemendy longed to open a pizzeria that paid tribute to the pizzerias of his childhood. He had grown up in the 1980s when it was a ritual to go to a place like Pizza Hut, sit at the booths, and order pies and pitchers of soda to the table. After experimenting with doughs and pizza combos in his kitchens, he made the jump to open a new pizzeria location in Brooklyn's Williamsburg neighborhood. The nostalgic pizzeria focuses on Detroit-style pizza pies as well as wings and salads. I recently visited Ace's Pizza while I was cycling around NYC. I was trying out a number of Brooklyn breweries and pizzerias and this was my third stop of the day. Although the pizzeria is relatively new, I had heard nothing but great things. I was very surprised when I walked in. The pizzeria had a super-retro vibe; I felt like I had stepped back in time to a pizzeria from the '70s or '80s. There were vinyl booths, an N64, a vintage arcade cabinet, and all sorts of crazy pictures and kitsch on the walls. After looking over the menu, I ordered a personal size of the "Hot Burrata" (Ace's special cheese blend, tomato sauce, creamy burrata, Calabrian chili and basil). When it was served to me, the dough was covered from edge to edge with a caramelized cheesy, crunchy crust. I may come from the land of New Haven-style thin crust pizza, but Ace's Detroit-style pizza was totally delicious! I enjoyed it so much that I immediately ordered a second. This time I ordered a personal "Vodka Meatball" (homemade meatballs, vodka sauce, fresh mozzarella and ricotta). Like the previous pie, it was so good! I had quite a memorable experience at Ace's and I'd love to return with my family!

Came here on a late Saturday afternoon for a snack, without realizing that they don't really have a "snack" option. The smallest size is their personal portion, which is still two pretty hefty slices. Freshly made though, so still super hot and fresh! I got the hot burrata, and it was really good. Pepperonis were cooked to perfection, super crispy and crunch. The burrata provided pops of freshness and creaminess, and the calabrian chili really stood out, with its extreme amounts of flavor. The dough itself was also great, as it was super fluffy and light, with a good crisp around the edges. The only thing that was a bit weird to me was that the bottom of the slices weren't very crispy at all, and I was expecting that with how well crisped the edges were. This made the middle bites a bit homogeneous in terms of texture. Overall, still really solid. Will definitely be back to try a full pie!

This is my second time here and the service is always friendly and they are able to fit my group of 4 without a long wait (which is not easy at all delicious Brooklyn pizza places). If you want some legit Detroit style pizza with crispy edges and golden bottoms, this is it. You can't go wrong with any of the pies here although I'd recommend at least a medium size if you're sharing. I do wish the vodka meatball had a little more vodka sauce but I love my pizzas extra saucy. The cheesy bread is delicious too but it's essentially cheese pizza because you get the same crispy edges.

Is there a better Detroit style pizza or pizza spot in Brooklyn than Aces? Please tell me. I don't think you can go wrong with any options. Pepperoni 10/10, Mushroom 10/10, Meatball 10/10 and the Honey JalapeƱo Cheesy Bread 100/10. Quick and friendly service with a retro pizza arcade feel.
